Southern Utah Adoptable Pets: City of Mesquite Animal Shelter
The City of Mesquite Animal Shelter is located at 795 Hardy Way and is open for adoptions from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Mondays through Saturdays and from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sundays. Below are the pets currently available for adoption from the shelter.
Buddy
Buddy’s owner could no longer keep him. He is 3 years old and has never had a stable home life. He isn’t sure what is expected of him. He loves people and being close to you but isn’t sure about sharing his home with another dog. He knows basic commands like “sit” and is learning to play with toys. He is learning to respond to his name, too! He behaves well on leash, but he is a strong boy and doesn’t know his strength.
Ivy
Ivy purrs all the time and is a very gentle and laid-back cat. She loves people and receiving attention. We have noticed that she isn’t that willing to share her space with another cat.
Spirit
Spirit was found as a stray. This is a very social and friendly little cat that likes to be petted, brushed, and held.
Elton
Elton was also found as a stray. He had a home once as he is already neutered. He is very friendly and inquisitive and loves attention. He does not like other cats.

Morris
Morris is a 6-year-old male who is very sweet and friendly and gets along with other cats. Morris was surrendered by his owner to the city shelter. We don’t know why. He is litter-box trained, neutered, and up to date on his vaccinations.
Sadie
Sadie is a 10-year-old female who was surrendered by her owner to a Las Vegas shelter. Sadie is a very nice cat with a mellow personality. She is not a lap cat but likes to get head and chin scratches. She is litter-box trained, spayed, and up to date on her vaccinations.
Jules
Jules is a 1-year-old female who came to PAWS pregnant and had five kittens. She has raised her kittens and is ready to be adopted. She is very playful and gets along with other cats. Jules is a beautiful girl and will make a great pet for some lucky person. Come into PAWS and meet her soon! She is litter-box trained, spayed, and up to date on her vaccinations.
Grover
Grover is a 9- or 10-year-old Chiweenie. He is great with dogs, cats, and children. Grover came to PAWS from a high-kill shelter in California. He is such a sweet boy and will make someone a great companion. Come meet him soon!
Petey
Petey is a 9-year-old who is good with dogs and children. Petey came to PAWS from Las Vegas. Petey is currently in a foster home.

Chief is a chubby 12-week-old silver-and-black tabby that loves everybody. He waits to be picked up and then snuggles under your chin and purrs constantly. Chief is going to be a big cat as he has big paws and ears. Chief is clean, polite, litter trained, and just a good little kitten. Chief loves dogs, children, other cats, and men.
Fancy Pants
Fancy Pants is a stunning short-haired 8-week-old mix that has stunning orange, black, and white calico markings. Fancy Pants is friendly and playful and has a delightful, gentle attitude. Fancy Pants is clean, polite, litter-trained and happy in a home with other pets children and/or men. She is already spayed and vaccinated and ready for a home.
Snowy
Snowy is a beautiful medium-hair 8-week-old Siamese mix that is friendly and playful and has a delightful Siamese attitude. Snowy is clean, polite, litter-trained, and just a great little kitten. She is great with dogs, children, other cats, and men.
Sissy
Sissy is an adorable, fly-away-haired 8-week-old. Sissy is friendly, playful and has a delightful, gentle attitude. She is clean, polite, litter-trained, and great with dogs, children, other cats, and men. Sissy is spayed and vaccinated.

As you can tell by the way Moe posed for his shelter picture, he is a sweetheart. Moe is only 14 weeks old. He is a very handsome little guy with short orange-and-white hair. Moe is really anxious to find a family and a forever home. While he is loved at the shelter it is hard for the little kittens to not have a family to care for them and love them. Moe needs to find his forever home as soon as possible. He is counting on YOU to open your heart and home to him today.
Tasha
Tasha is a little sweetheart. She is 13 weeks old. Tasha came to the shelter with her sister Tonya, who has been adopted. She is a little shy and sad to be in the shelter without her sister. Tasha is a beautiful Siamese mix with light coloring. Her hair is short. The only home Tasha has ever known is the shelter. Tasha wants to find a family and a forever home as soon as possible. Please open your heart and home to this loving kitten.
Gypsy
Gypsy is approximately 2 years old and weighs 40 pounds. Gypsy has a great personality and loves to play. She is good with other dogs. Gypsy would make a fantastic addition to your family. She is an indoor dog but would like to find a home with a fenced yard so she can play outside in safety. Gypsy deserves a second chance at a happily ever after tale of love and happiness. She is waiting on YOU to rescue her as soon as possible.
Levi
Levi is a handsome tri-color Hound mix. To know a hound is to love a hound. They are a special breed. Just look at that face and you will understand. He has a great personality and gets along well with other dogs large and small as well as kids. Levi is approximately 10 months old as of 8-17-16 and he is almost out of the puppy stage of his life. He is a big boy weighing 70 pounds. Levi would like to find an active family who loves the outdoors. He is an inside dog but needs a fenced yard so he can play and enjoy the outdoors in complete safety. Levi is waiting on YOU to rescue him and be his new BFF.
Sadie
Sadie is a beautiful Lab/Shepherd mix. She is approximately 12 weeks old as of 8-17-16 and even now it is clear she is going to be a big girl. Sadie has a great personality and would make a great addition to your family. At her young age, she was sadly found abandoned. Sadie will need patience and training because she is still in the puppy stage of her life. Because of her breed she would like to find a family who is active and loves the outdoors. While Sadie is an indoor dog, she would like to find a home with a fenced yard so she can enjoy the outdoors in safety.
