Southern Utah Adoptable Pets: City of Mesquite Animal Shelter
The City of Mesquite Animal Shelter is located at 795 Hardy Way and is open for adoptions from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Mondays through Saturdays and from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sundays. Please call (702) 346-7415 during these hours to speak to the front desk, or visit mesquiteanimalshelter.petfinder.com. Animal Control may be reached by phone or voicemail at (702) 346-5268. Below are the pets currently available for adoption from the shelter.
Dino
Dino was found as a stray. He is a very shy gentleman and doesn’t understand what is happening in his life. He is calm and easy to handle, but he is not used to being held. He loves affection. He is coming out of his shell and will need a quiet home.
Lindy
This little girl’s owner could not keep a kitten. She is used to being with people and loves attention. she likes to cuddle and purrs constantly. She is good with other cats but is afraid of dogs.
Luna
Luna is part of family of eight and was turned into the shelter because their owner could no longer care for them. She is a very friendly and loving cat. She likes people and will come when she is called. She loves affection.
Snow
Snow is 6 months old and came to us from a loving home. One of Snow’s family member’s developed allergies. Snow is very used to people and loves to play. He is generally a quiet boy and listens very well. He loves to go for walks and play on the ramp and with a tennis ball.
Cory
Cory is 7 months old and came to us from a loving home. They just did not have the time to give her what she needs. She is very friendly and loves playing and hanging out with people. She knows sit and shake, and she is learning to walk on a leash. She seems to like the other dogs, too. Cory is used to being around children, but she is still just a puppy herself.
Southern Utah Adoptable Pets: St. George Animal Shelter
The St. George Animal Shelter is located at 605 E. Waterworks Dr. and is open Monday–Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Please call (435) 627-4350 during these hours to speak to the front desk, or visit St. George Animal Shelter. All pets are spayed, neutered, and vaccinated before adoption. The adoption fee for cats is $40 and it is $50 for dogs (the fee for dogs includes a microchip).
Piper
Piper was an unwanted guest at a local inn. She was making very late night and early morning rounds at the inn by waking guests when she would scratch at their doors. The inn called the shelter and felt that she should be picked up. She has been at the shelter waiting for a new home for almost 4 months. Piper is approximately 3 years old, already spayed, and current on vaccinations. She is very friendly and social with everyone that comes into the cat room. She behaves well with most other cats and for the most part keeps to herself. Please come visit Piper and see if she is the cat for your family.
Sunny
Sunny is 8 years old and was brought into the shelter when her owner was no longer able to care for her. She is very friendly and loves attention. She is spayed, declawed on her front feet, and current on all her vaccinations. She has been at the shelter for almost 4 months and would love a new home.
Southern Utah Adoptable Pets: PAWS
PAWS Adoption Center is located at 1125 W 1130 N in St. George. PAWS office hours are from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesdays–Fridays and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays. The office is closed Sundays and Mondays. Please submit an application at dixiepaws.org. Call (435) 688-9748, or email officepaws@gmail.com. All pets are microchipped, spayed or neutered, and current on vaccinations. Below are the pets currently available for adoption from the shelter.
Maddie
Maddie came to PAWS from a shelter where she was picked up as a stray. She is about 5 years old and is a Schnauzer. Her mouth and jaw are very infected, and she is in a lot of pain right now. She will have surgery when the infection clears up and will be spayed at that time (roughly 6 months from the end of September). Even though she is in pain, she is always happy to see you and loves to be pet.
Giddeon
Giddeon is a 1-year-old Australian shepherd/pit mix. He is bundles of energy and fun! He is looking for an active family with older or no children. He seems to be great with most other dogs. Giddeon’s adoption comes with two free training sessions at the Woof Center to get him off to a good start in his new home.
Hollie
Hollie is a 2-year-old female DSH flamepoint. She came to PAWS in June and was pregnant. Hollie has finished her mom duties and is now ready for adoption. She is a very mellow, sweet cat. Hollie has the Siamese blue eyes and is a very gorgeous cat. She has no problem with other cats. She is also litter-box trained.
Autumn
Autumn is a 2-year-old female DSH dilute tortoiseshell. She came to PAWS in July and was pregnant. Autumn was a great mother and is now ready for adoption. She is a sweet cat with beautiful green eyes. Autumn gets along with other cats at our adoption center. She is also litter-box trained.
Sneak
Sneak is 1 or 2 years old and is a DSH gray Tabby. He was rescued from a kill shelter in February. Sneak is very ready to find his forever home. He’s very mild mannered and loving. Please consider adopting this sweet boy.
