Public comment on Zion area transit invited at East Zion Shuttle Study Open House
By Camille Johnson
The Kane County Office of Tourism and regional partners are currently in the process of developing strategic options and a plan for a public transit service that connects the Kanab area to other locations in Kane County, Zion National Park, and Springdale. This service will be available to local residents and visitors. All interested members of the community should stop by the East Zion Shuttle Study Open House held at the Kanab Public Library Meeting Room June 6 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
As part of the planning process, it is important to meet with the community and receive input on how this type of service should work, what locations need to be served, and understand the overall community vision for the new East Zion Shuttle. Stakeholder involvement will be a critical part of the development of the recommendations that will result from the planning efforts. The project team will have to know the needs, desires, opportunities, and issues associated with transit service to, between, and connecting Kane County communities with Zion National Park and beyond in order to develop the right plan for this community.
Please come and enjoy some refreshments while you participate in some interactive mapping and tell us what kind of transit service is needed in your community. For more information contact Bennett Powell at bpowell@kfhgroup.com or (512) 372-8807.
