Pianist Fang Zhang performs Beethoven, Liszt, and Shostakovich with SUU Orchestra
Dr. Fang Zhang, a pianist from Renmin University in China, will perform works by Beethoven, Liszt, and Shostakovich with the SUU Orchestra. The concert will take place Oct. 15 at 7:30 p.m. in the Heritage Center Theater in Cedar City.
Zhang, chair of the music department at Renmin University, received a bachelor’s degree in piano at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing. He earned a master’s degree at the Eastman School of Music where he was awarded the Eastman Performers Certificate, the school’s highest award for distinction in performance. During his time studying for a doctorate degree at Eastman, he received the Liberace Award scholarship. He completed his education at Capital Normal University of Beijing with a PhD in music theory and analysis.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for youth. SUU faculty, staff, and students enter free with a valid ID card. Faculty and staff IDs are allowed one guest. Tickets can be purchased at the door the night of the concert or online at suu.edu/pva.
