Canyon Creek Services’ Dine Out for Shelter raises over $15,000
By Niki Venis
Canyon Creek Services is excited to announce the best year yet for the Dine Out for Shelter fundraiser. Canyon Creek Services’ Dine Out for Shelter fundraiser brought in $17,315.21 this year. Our top five restaurants were The Pizza Cart (for the second year in a row), Charlies Southern BBQ, All American Diner, Pastry Pub, and Centro Woodfired Pizzeria.
Since 2011, the Dine Out for Shelter event has been raising funds needed for Canyon Creek Services to support survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in our community. Money raised during this event assists the organization in its continued efforts to provide shelter, food, clothing, transportation assistance, and many other services to clients in need.
Not only is this annual event important to Canyon Creek’s survivors, it also brings business to our community and local participating restaurants. In addition to our legacy participants, The Pizza Cart, Centro Woodfired Pizzeria, Charlies Southern BBQ, Pastry Pub, Brick House Cafe, Teriyaki Grill, both Dairy Queen locations, 5 Buck Pizza, Pisco Peruvian Cuisine, The Depot Grill Steak and Seafood, All American Diner, and Pork Belly’s Eatery and Catering Co., Dine out for Shelter was also grateful for the participation of a few “newbies” this year. New participants for 2018 included Palette Bakery, Bruno’s Italian Deli, Perks Espresso and Smoothies, The French Spot, and Tacos El Jefe.
