…A STRONG STORM SYSTEM WILL IMPACT THE AREA THURSDAY THROUGH
FRIDAY…
.A strong storm system will impact the area beginning with mountain
snow and valley rain along with gusty winds on Thursday.
Significant snowfall is expected across all mountains through
Friday afternoon with this storm, with the greatest amounts
across the northern mountains. Snow levels will begin to lower
following the passage of a cold front late Thursday and reach the
valley floors by Friday morning.
…WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THURSDAY TO 11 AM
MST FRIDAY…
* WHAT…Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 8 to 14 inches
with locally higher amounts expected. Winds gusting as high as
45 mph.
* WHERE…The mountains of central and southern Utah.
* WHEN…From 11 AM Thursday to 11 AM MST Friday.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Plan on slippery road conditions. Some
roadways across the central and southern mountains of Utah may
become snow-packed. Gusty winds may cause blowing and drifting
of snow.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will
cause primarily travel difficulties. Expect snow covered roads
and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
