Historic Ruby’s Inn is celebrating the best cross-country skiing conditions the resort has seen in recent memory.
“We’ve got the groomers working overtime to get the trails ready for guests,” said Jean Seiler, director of marketing for Ruby’s Inn. “We hope visitors get to enjoy these prime conditions before they’re gone.”
Recent winter storms dropped more than two feet of snow along the network of trails accessible from Ruby’s Inn, which provides the closest available lodging to Bryce Canyon National Park.
The 15 km of groomed trails navigate through the resort’s expansive property and then into Dixie National Forest. Skiers can experience the variety of views winding through groves of Ponderosa pines and then into open areas with incredible scenic overlooks.
“Getting out on the trails—either on skis or snowshoes—is one of the best ways to experience Bryce Canyon,” Seiler said. “And best of all, there’s no charge to access our trail system.”
Seiler added that conditions are also perfect for snowmobiling or just taking in the rare sight of thousands of crimson rock formations, called hoodoos, covered with white snow.
Cross-country skis and snowshoes are available for rent at Ruby’s Inn. For more information on winter activities, visit: www.rubysinn.com or call 435-834-5341.
