Milosouthern utah adoptable pets Milo

Milo is a blue and gold macaw, a large parrot native to South America. They are known for their striking colors and their ability to talk. They bond closely to their people. They require a lot of exercise and attention. Milo was born in 1999 and can live to be over 60.

Rangersouthern utah adoptable pets Ranger

Ranger was born in 2017 and was abandoned. Like all bunnies, he likes to dig, get into things, and run around. Most rabbits do best with a buddy. Best Friends rabbits are no different and the majority of them are deeply bonded with one or two other rabbits. We do require that bonded pairs are adopted together. If you find a rabbit you are interested in adopting Best Friends will be happy to tell you whether or not they have a partner. You can contact them at rabbits@bestfriends.org for more information. Thank you for your interest in adopting!

Myrtlesouthern utah adoptable pets Myrtle

Myrtle knows her name and will come when called. She is social with people and loves to spend time swimming and basking in the sun. Sliders are a relatively large turtle and can reach up to 12 inches in length. They will need an aquarium with a decent depth of water to swim in (the bigger the better – they are semi-aquatic turtles after all), and a basking area under a full-spectrum light source. They have specific dietary needs, and Best Friends will provide that information for you. They love to watch you, they’ll just about eat from your hand, and we’re sure you’ll love having them in your home. Myrtle was born in 2005. When cared for correctly, sliders can live 50-70. No sanctuary visit necessary, however, you must be within driving distance of Kanab to adopt. If you are interested in a slider, please fill out an adoption survey!

Jewelsouthern utah adoptable pets Jewel

Jewel is definitely one of the most beautiful girls in the ‘neigh’borhood. Her breeding is Arabian and Saddlebred, which not only makes her extra fancy but also extremely sensitive. She’s so sensitive, in fact, that she needed to come to Best Friends for some specialized training as she had gotten dangerous for her (very experienced) owner to handle. She’s made huge strides but will always be the type of horse who needs to be handled by someone with horse skills well above what most horse owners ever achieve. In other words, you’d need the equivalent of one or two advanced degrees in horse psychology to be Jewel’s perfect person. If you think you are that person and are willing to give Jewel her ideal forever home, please contact us for her full story.

Trixsouthern utah adoptable pets Trix

Trix is active, excited about life and loves the great outdoors. She’s always ready to play fetch, go for walks or run around. Because she’s shy and fearful with strangers, especially men, she’s considered a flight risk and needs a securely fenced yard and a person who can keep her safe. Other than that, Trix is pretty low-maintenance. She may make you work to earn her trust at first, but once she warms up to you, she’s super sweet and will lavish you with affection. She’s been great with other dogs that she’s comfortable with at the Sanctuary, and she is very attached to her canine roommates. Sometimes, she’s hesitant to go for walks with new people if her dog friends aren’t with her. But at Dogtown, she’s working on getting more comfortable meeting strangers, going places without her doggie roommates and eating her meals when there are strangers around. Born in 2018, Trish came to Best Friends though local animal control and is ready to move on to a home of her own.

Zimasouthern utah adoptable pets Zima

Kadysouthern utah adoptable pets Kady

When Kady was surrendered to RSQ Dogs, her family was calling her Shiver because she always shook; now she’s in a happy foster home with several other dogs and learning she doesn’t need to be afraid of everything. If you think you’re Kady’s perfect family, let RSQ Dogs+ know!

Fionasouthern utah adoptable pets Fiona2

Fiona is a lovely young dog, approximately 1-2 years of age. She loves to cuddle with people, plays well with friendly dogs and lost her home when she was abandoned when her folks moved away and left her with no food. Fiona and three of her puppies survived by eating the other animals that died from starvation. Five of her puppies did not survive. Though young and put through a very stressful situation with her puppies, she has done an excellent job and has remained loving and loyal to people. Her puppies are finding families that will love them forever and it’s time for Fiona to also find her ever after family. Her adoption fee is $125. They are now taking applications on her. To meet her, call  (435) 773-5209.

Dukesouthern utah adoptable pets DollysMomsouthern utah adoptable pets DUKE

Duke is a typical puppy who loves puppy play. He does have very sharp teeth and may not be a match for young children without close adult supervision. He will chew toys, shoes, etc until he gets a bit older and those teeth will hurt if he decides to chew on a hand or foot of a toddler. They really don’t know what Duke is but they have included a picture of his mother. He could be lab based on his appearance. While his mother is a medium-sized dog, Duke gives indications that he might grow up to be a medium or large sized dog (60 lbs or over). Be prepared for that if adopting. Duke is seeking a foster-to-adopt home at this time with the adoption being finalized at the time he is neutered. His adoption fee at that time will be $150. To apply, please complete an application to adopt and call (435) 773-5209 to set a time to meet Dolly.

Tobysouthern utah adoptable pets TOBY

Toby is absolutely the happiest little dog you will ever want to meet. His tail is always going and he always has a smile on his face. He’s an active little guy who knows exactly what he wants out of life and aims to go about getting it. Right now he wants a family of his own. When he’s frightened or there’s too much chaos around him, Toby can get a wee bit snappy. For that reason, they do not recommend young children for him although older, respectful, dog savvy teen should be fine. He just needs to be left alone when frightened until he calms down and he has good recovery so it doesn’t take long. He absolutely loves lap sitting and playing with other dogs his size (he’s nervous around some big dogs). His adoption fee is $175. To meet Toby call Phyllis at (435) 705-9227. You will definitely fall in love with this little guy!
