Manuelsouthern utah adoptable pets Manuel

Manuel is a goofy, happy dog who loves attention and is always ready to go out and have fun. At the Sanctuary, he loves people and playing with other dogs. He is eager to learn new things and very food motivated, so training him is fun and easy. Manuel was born in 2015 and came to Best Friends from a shelter. He has shown guarding behavior with food and toys and will guard them from people and other dogs. He can be jumpy and mouthy when he’s excited, especially when he’s getting harnessed up for a walk, but he is working on this at Dogtown. He learns quickly and is also working on sitting nicely at his gate, going to his ‘place,’ lying down and waiting for his food bowl. Manuel really loves going on adventures, so an active home would be best for him.

Rumisouthern utah adoptable pets Rumi

Rumi is an ‘old soul’ with a gentle and sweet personality. She is a go-with-the-flow type of gal who enjoys the company and attention of people. With her low-key, quiet disposition she’d be happy to sit with you on the couch while watching television, reading a book or simply snuggling. She walks well on a leash and likes gentle strolls around the block. Rumi is a calm dog with nice manners, who has been considerate of other dogs she’s met at the Sanctuary. Born in 2011, Rumi came to Best Friends with an issue with her hind right leg. At times she will hold it up and not bear full weight on it. It occurs more often after she’s been sleeping or lying down, and it takes a few minutes for her to warm up and walk normally. She is scheduled for radiographs at the Best Friends Animal Clinic and is currently on joint supplements and medications to help her feel more comfortable. Rumi would probably do best in a quiet, less active environment. She’s the kind of dog who’ll be content to simply sit by your side.

Ellasouthern utah adoptable pets Ella

Ella will steal your heart when you meet her. She has lots of energy but will settle down nicely for a belly rub. Smart and treat motivated, she is eager to learn and to play games. She likes to do nose work, a fun search and scenting game, and she will go find treats if you hide them. She also enjoys going for walks and exploring, and she is good for car rides. Born in 2014, Ella came to Best Friends from a shelter in Texas. She can be a bit picky with her doggie friends and did not pass a cat test at the Sanctuary. At the Sanctuary, she has been working on name recognition and basic training cues. Dogtown volunteers who’ve taken her on sleepovers say she’s a real lovebug. Ella has successfully finished treatment for heartworm disease. She’s feeling great these days and is ready to move on to an active and loving home.

Snowbiesouthern utah adoptable pets Snowbie

Snowbie is a gorgeous cat with stunning blue eyes. He was born in 2016 and came here after his person passed away. He does fine with other cats. Shy cats like these have always been an important part of Best Friends’ culture. They have special spirits and deep personalities. And this beautiful cat would love to be a part of your life.

Aladdinsouthern utah adoptable pets Aladdin

Aladdin is very shy with people and will only occasionally let you pet him. He’s otherwise calm and happy, and he enjoys the company of other cats. He seems curious when other cats are being petted. He’s coming around to people slowly. He’ll sometimes join in playing with a fishing pole toy, and he likes treats. Aladdin was born around 2015 and he was abandoned. He is looking for a person who has the patience to let him blossom into the adorable, joyful cat he truly is.

Jadesouthern utah adoptable pets JADE

Jade is one of the terrific adoptable dogs at That BAM Place in Hurricane, UT. You can see what a beautiful girl Jade is but she’s not just a pretty face–she knows “sit”, of course, but will listen and is keen to learn if there is a treat to be had. Jade is a young adult at approximately one-year-old. Jade knows how to use a dog door, loves to play with squeaky balls, enjoys chewing on hard bones, walks well on a leash and plays with their other dogs (large and small). BAM recently took Jade to the vet after she jumped off of something and limped. They found that she may have some arthritis in her elbow but short walks and regular play are still great exercises for her. BAM also learned there that she may have lived with cats previously as the clinic cat was practically rubbing on her with little more reaction than a sniff. If you are interested in Jade please text or call Julie at (435) 773-5209.

Oscarsouthern utah adoptable pets OSCAR

Meet BAM’s handsome, adoptable Oscar!! We know. He doesn’t look poodle/springer but that’s what his DNA says. Oscar is the youngest 10 year old you’ll likely ever meet. He’s filled with seemingly boundless energy, he knows his basic commands, he gets along with other dogs and all of the people he’s had the opportunity to meet. Oscar was adopted 9 years ago and has had one family during that time. Unfortunately, they recently made a move that he was unable to make with them so he is looking for a forever family. Oscar has previously been given the opportunity to go on unaccompanied walkabouts. Because of this, he has developed the habit of going over the fence to roam. He comes with his own cable that could go in his yard but what he would like most is room to roam or a very secure yard for when he isn’t hanging out inside with his peeps. Oscar recently had a dental and a malignant tumor removed from his side which the vet believes was removed entirely. To adopt or learn more about Oscar, text or call Julie at (435) 773-5209.

Fionasouthern utah adoptable pets Fiona2

Fiona is a lovely young dog, approximately 1-2 years of age. She loves to cuddle with people, plays well with friendly dogs and lost her home when she was abandoned when her folks moved away and left her with no food. Fiona and three of her puppies survived by eating the other animals that died from starvation. Five of her puppies did not survive. Though young and put through a very stressful situation with her puppies, she has done an excellent job and has remained loving and loyal to people. Her puppies are finding families that will love them forever and it’s time for Fiona to also find her ever after family. Her adoption fee is $125. They are now taking applications on her. To meet her, call (435) 773-5209.

Sabrinasouthern utah adoptable pets Sabrina

After being hit by a car, little Sabrina spent 8 weeks in a cast while her bones healed. She’s 10 years old but loves to adventure by car, trail, or river. Snuggles are her favorite, but she’s not a couch potato. Sabrina lives with several big dogs and enjoys their company. Never once have they heard her bark. Sabrina would be great in any home but, even with her cast off, she will still need tender care until her bones are strong. Sabrina does require daily medication for an enlarged heart but nothing stops this little dog from living life to its fullest. They are still working on house training, but the process is slow due to her broken bones. Sabrina sleeps through the night without urinating and does not urinate on the carpet but will on tile. Her cast may be at fault, and now with it removed, she’ll be more agile and move more easily. To meet Sabrina or find out more about her, contact Andrea or A.J. at (612) 756-2374. Sabrina’s adoption fee is $100 and she is also eligible for their Seniors Helping Seniors Program.

Tobysouthern utah adoptable pets TOBY

Toby is absolutely the happiest little dog you will ever want to meet. His tail is always going and he always has a smile on his face. He’s an active little guy who knows exactly what he wants out of life and aims to go about getting it. Right now he wants a family of his own. When he’s frightened or there’s too much chaos around him, Toby can get a wee bit snappy. For that reason, they do not recommend young children for him although older, respectful, dog savvy teen should be fine. He just needs to be left alone when frightened until he calms down and he has good recovery so it doesn’t take long. He absolutely loves lap sitting and playing with other dogs his size (he’s nervous around some big dogs). His adoption fee is $175. To meet Toby call Phyllis at (435) 705-9227. You will definitely fall in love with this little guy!

Nelliesouthern utah adoptable pets NELLIE

Nellie is an active 7-year-old basset/pit mix. She is good with other dogs (including her 3 foster sisters) and cats. She is house trained with a pet door, likes to cuddle and play tug of war. She’s a 3 ft tall counter surfer if not watched. Nellie is good on and off leash on her daily walks. She is a great walking/hiking companion and needs lots of chewable and squeaky toys. Nellie’s adoption fee is $125. To meet Nellie, contact David at (435) 862-2207.
