Cody
“Now that I got your attention with my puppy dog eyes, let me tell you about myself. My name is Cody and I’m just about as sweet as they come! I just love people and I have many friends here at the sanctuary, but what I really long for is a best friend to spend my days with. Long walks and cuddling are my favorite pass times, and I promise to always be a very good boy. I have a secret admirer who has sponsored my adoption, and I’m ready to come home with you today! Call my friends on the adoptions team to find out more about me.”
Tank
Tank is the good boy you are missing in your life. He loves (LOVES) people and loves (LOVES) most other dogs. For a bigger guy he is very playful and has the energy to do anything you want to do – or do not want to do! He appreciates a good bed or couch when he finds one and is happy to lounge around between strolls or romps in the backyard. Unlike most dogs Tank does not appreciate a good belly rub and we are not quite sure why. He does have a neurological quirk that makes his head tilt (super cute photo ops every time!) and makes going new places difficult for him. Tank is ready to love you and is excited to receive your love in return.
Feebee
Feebee does a happy dance when she sees one of her people and it will absolutely win you over. Feebee can be silly, too. She sometimes gets the ‘zoomies’ when she’s around her caregivers and feeling especially happy. She gets equally excited to snuggle or to go for a walk on the trails. Feebee has a routine when meeting new people and she will need to continue this training in a home. Feebee thrives with structure, routine and a little patience. As long as she has that when she goes into a home, she will settle in just fine. Feebee is working on making dog friends but right now she is only comfortable walking next to them and not actually meeting them, so she would do best as the only dog in her new home. Feebee loves to learn and especially loves to show off the skills she has already learned. Feebee is an affectionate girl and a joy to be around, she would love to be your new best friend!
Jamaica
Jamaica is more appealing than the island he is named after, this cat may seem shy at first, but after a few treats will let you pet his belly. Get in and meet this beautiful guy!
Lizzie
Lizzie likes to take things in stages. She’s initially shy with everyone. She will take a liking to certain people after a while, and then she’ll become insanely friendly. She coexists with other cats, especially if they give her space. Born in 2011, Lizzie came from a shelter in Idaho. She has Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). She’s a very sweet and affectionate girl with certain people. Could you be one of Lizzie’s certain people?
Bucky
Bucky is very shy around people, although he’s gained a lot of confidence since coming to Best Friends. He started out as one of our famous ‘rafter cats,’ but now he spends most of his time on ground level. He’ll even let you get close enough to feed him baby food out of a spoon. Bucky is good with other cats as long as they’re easygoing and don’t pick on him. He’s still young and playful. He even cuddles with one of his roommates Danette, a cute girl cat who has helped him come out of his shell. Born in 2016, he came from a California shelter. It will take Bucky time to adjust to a new home, but he’s making great progress.

Tesha
Tesha is a 1-year-old corgi mix. She is such a sweet, gentle girl who really loves her ball. She is still pretty timid so she will need a family that can help her build her confidence and trust in people.

Tom
Tom is a 1-year-old cattle dog mix. He loves his ball. He is playful and loving and would like an active home to keep him busy!
Javert
We are currently accepting applications to get pre-approved to adopt Javert. The only thing Javert and his siblings will steal is your heart! This adorable kitten and his siblings, Cosette, Eponine, and Jean Valjean were abandoned and had to be bottle-fed until Fantine took them in as her own. Please consider adopting Javert and Eponine as they are bonded and thrive when they have a companion. RSQ Dogs+
Eponine
We are currently accepting applications to get pre-approved to adopt Eponine. Eponine is looking for a home where she and a sibling will be pampered and spoiled by their adopters. She will then be sure to fall blindly in love with you. This adorable kitten and her siblings, Cosette, Javert, and Jean Valjean were abandoned and had to be bottle-fed until Fantine took them in as her own. Please consider adopting Eponine and Javert as they are bonded and thrive when they have a companion.
Providing Animals With Support (PAWS)
PAWS Adoption Center will now be open from 12-3 Tuesday-Saturday. PAWS still require social distancing and visitors to wear masks. Please submit adoption applications to dixiepaws.org/adopt and we will arrange an appointment for approved adopters to meet in with proper social distancing and in a sanitized environment. All pets are microchipped, spayed or neutered, and current on vaccinations. Below are the pets currently available for adoption from the shelter.
Harrison & Captain Henry
Meet brothers Captain Henry and Harrison. These two boys are 4-year-old Maltese Shih-Tzu mixes and they are darling! They are a bonded pair and must be adopted out together. They are potty trained, well-mannered guys. Love walks, get along with kids, and like to play. Captain Henry only has one eye, but that certainly does not hold him back in any way. Harrison can become protective of his children, so we believe they will do best in a home with older children or no children. They are both neutered, microchipped, dewormed, and vaccinated. Submit adoption applications to dixiepaws.org/adopt and remember PAWS is adopting them out together.
Pierce & Lopez
Four-month-old bonded brothers Pierce and Lopez are looking for a home together. This sweet duo are coming out of their shells. They love to cuddle with each other and once they feel safe in the environment they are loving teenagers. Be pre-approved to take your new PAWS Cat home with you by submitting an adoption application to dixiepaws.org/adopt.
Grace
Grace is a beautiful long haired lady. This cat is very loving and loves cuddles. She is a calm cat seeking a calm household.

Livy
Beautiful Livy is 8–9 years old and is the most loving girl ever. She is a gentle soul who takes her time / is a little on the slow-paced side and very friendly. She likes children and other dogs. Livy’s rabies vaccine is up to date and she will be receiving her distemper/parvovirus/bordetella inoculations shortly.
Bella
Pretty Bella is a rock! She’s a big goofy girl who thinks she’s little. She came to BAM a smidge overweight and will need to shed a few pounds to be as healthy as she should be. It’s hard to tell what she’s mixed with–Labrador or Rottweiler maybe but she’s a whole lot of lover girl! If you need someone to walk with or toss a ball to or just rub a tummy while you binge watch tv, she’s always ready! She may look rough and tumble but she wants to be loved on just like all the other girls. Bella gets along with other dogs but gets possessive of her toys and doesn’t always want to share so she will need to be closely monitored with her playmates.
Piper
Piper is a sweet senior girl who just wants to relax and be pampered. She is on medication for a previously untreated condition called Collie Nose and needs to be guarded from too much sun. She loves gentle kids and gets along with gentle dogs. She’s a lover girl that just needs someone to love her back.
Pepper
Sweet Pepper is a beautiful chunk of love who will go belly up for a tummy rub any time of day — except dinner time, of course. Pepper’s short snout makes it more difficult for her to tolerate hot weather, especially while exercising. It is critically important to make sure she has enough shade and water. She needs to be monitored to make sure she is not struggling to breathe. In our shelter, Pepper is cage aggressive with some of the other dogs so she would need to meet any potential playmates before adoption.
