The Count of Monte Cristo And The School of Rock Brings Audiences To Their Feet!

Some would have you believe that standing ovations have become the standard or expected reaction to live performing arts events. If that’s true, it certainly was not the case over the weekend as Tuacahn continued its 2021 season with two new, sold-out shows, filled with intrigue, irony, and excitement; bringing audiences to their feet each night — overcome by genuine elation and wonder.
While the Count of Monte Cristo is one of my all-time favorite stories, for me, it was The School of Rock that truly caught me off guard and filled me with more emotions than I can adequately express. To say that I was left exhausted by the end of the show would be an understatement. I smiled and laughed all the way to the car as we had to step back into reality to go home…
If you have not seen The School of Rock, this is one show you should do everything in your power to see. It will make you laugh, and, if you’re like me — ‘I often cry at commercials’, it will even bring a few tears to your eyes. Not tears of sadness, but tears of laughter, joy, and that indescribable emotion that swells up inside when the human spirit exceeds all of your expectations.
This heartwarming story will take you back to when you were a child and dreamed of being a rock star. And I know you did. I mean, who doesn’t entertain this lofty dream at some point in their lives?
Now I have to be careful here for those who have never heard the story or seen the show. I wouldn’t want to give anything away. You’ll just have to take my word for it that you won’t be disappointed. And, for those of you who already know the story, you still won’t want to miss this particular group of performers. You could tell from the moment the show started that every performer on stage was having as much or more fun than we the audience and their energy filled the entire canyon.
The Count of Monte Cristo was just as awe-inspiring as you might expect if you’re familiar with this story as well. Between the elaborate stage engineering and the performers, you will not be disappointed. As I said when I first started to write, this is one of my all-time favorites when it comes to drama, irony, and the forces of good and evil that have plagued our world for centuries.
While I would love to go into more detail, I will have to reserve some of my more detailed thoughts for a couple of follow-up articles as time is short and it is quite late. I mean, I just left the theater and I want this to go out first thing in the morning. So!
That being said, I would highly encourage you to go online as soon as possible to secure your tickets to see these two shows.
