DOCUTAH Grows Festival To 100 Films!
Dixie State University DOCUTAH International Documentary Film Festival™ today announced 36 new films chosen from the 2021 submissions, bringing the total of films for this year’s Festival to 100 films from 13 countries, which combines films from the 2020 Festival with those accepted for this year. The DOCUTAH Festival takes place November 1 through 6 at the Megaplex Pineview 10 theaters, allowing expansion to 6 full days of films and time for more special events tied to the film themes. As DOCUTAH enters its 12th season, despite being interrupted by the pandemic, we continue to create a global, immersive experience for our audience, which can only be found at a live film festival,” said Phil Tuckett, Executive Director of the DOCUTAH International Documentary Film Festival. “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to use the Pineview Theaters. Our audience will enjoy the highest end projection and sound along with the amenities which come along with this theater experience – great seats and concessions.”

Friday, August 27, 2021, 7 pm – The Renaissance of Mata Ortiz

Friday, October 29, 2021 – Everyday Sunshine: The Story of Fishbone
In advance of the Festival, we reprise one of our most popular films ever. A story about music, history, fear, courage and funking. A blistering combination of punk and funk Fishbone demolished the walls of genre, challenged the racial stereotypes and political order of the music industry and the nation. At the heart of the film’s story is lead singer Angelo Moore and bassist Norwood Fisher who show how they keep the band rolling out of pride, desperation and love for their art. Buy Tickets

DSU DOCUTAH International Documentary Film Festival™ celebrates the art of documentary filmmaking. The 2021 Festival runs from November 1 – 6. The Festival, which is part of Dixie State University, gives students in its Film degree program the opportunity to interact with professionals in the discipline.
The Festival offers a week of entertaining films from all over the world, as well as year-round programs including monthly DOCUTAH@Pineview film screenings, all of which provide creative, cultural, and educational engagement.
