Insights On Outdoor and Adventure Activities Provided As Junior Ranger Family Night Returns to St. George, Sept. 9
St. GEORGE— A variety of different organizations and agencies involved in outdoor activities will join the City of St. George for an evening of adventure and educational enrichment during the Junior Ranger Family Night, Sept. 9, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Tonaquint Nature Center.
The event is free to attend, but registration is required to get an estimate for the amount of refreshments needed.
“Junior Ranger Family Night is a great opportunity for families to come to one location and learn about all the outdoors and adventure opportunities available right here in southern Utah,” said Recreation Supervisor Hannah Keller. “Kids can participate in activities and parents can come and have conversations with the different agencies to learn about what each provides.”
Participating agencies include:
- Big Brothers Big Sisters
- Utah Department of Natural Resources- Utah State Parks
- BLM- Arizona Strip
- Conserve Southwest Utah
- Zion National Park
- St. George Dinosaur Discovery Site
- Utah Division of Wildlife Resources
- Washington County Water Conservancy District
- Bicycle Collective
- Get Outside
- Red Cliffs Desert Reserve
Each agency will provide an activity for kids to complete to help teach them about the outdoors and various safety practices. This event is meant to both educate and provide a fun and meaningful night so that families apply the knowledge learned to create their own outdoor experiences.
