A visually stunning, musically powerful journey of faith, freedom, and brotherhood
With thunderous drums, haunting chants, and a wall of voices crying “Deliver us,” Hurricane Theatrical’s The Prince of Egypt opens like a tidal wave, instantly gripping the audience with its raw emotion and epic scale. From the first note to the final bow, this production tells a deeply human story of faith, freedom, and brotherhood—brought to life with breathtaking visuals and a soaring score that lingers long after the curtain falls.

Directed by Kyle Myrick, with choreography by Sammy Myrick and vocal direction by Ashley Fawson, this adaptation of the DreamWorks film follows Moses—from Egyptian prince to Hebrew prophet—as he answers the painful call to lead his people to freedom. The production doesn’t shy away from the emotional weight of that journey, and every element of the show works together to make the stakes feel real.
Set design by Nathan Merrill is as impressive as it is immersive. Towering palace walls, flowing riverbanks, and sweeping desert scenes create a striking portrait of ancient Egypt. Each transition flows smoothly, enhancing the cinematic quality while grounding the story in emotional truth.

Lighting adds richness and depth throughout—from the glow of the burning bush to the eerie darkness of the plagues—creating an atmosphere that elevates each moment. Costumes, from ornate royal garb to humble robes, are crafted with thoughtful detail and visual impact.
The cast meets the show’s vocal and dramatic demands with compelling performances. The bond between Moses and Ramses is particularly moving, as two brothers grapple with identity, power, and loyalty. Stephen Schwartz’s score shines in numbers like “Deliver Us,” “Through Heaven’s Eyes,” and the heart-stirring “When You Believe.”

Choreography infuses the stage with energy—from royal processionals to moments of suffering and liberation. The parting of the Red Sea, a visual and emotional highlight, is executed with creativity and grace through movement and lighting.
