Album: Black Candy
Artist: Snake Bite Whisky
– By Rob Jones –
Every so often in Rock n Roll, you come across that band who really brings that rabid dog attitude to their sound, Snake Bite Whisky is one such band.
If you throw together George Thorogood and The Destroyers, Jackyl, Faster Pussycat, and The Sex Pistols, I think you’d have some idea of what this band sounds like, All of that but harder.
Their latest album, Black Candy, Has all of the viscous intensity of a full capacity fight at a biker bar. This sleaze metal band comes out swinging with “thunderbird” dialing up the punk influence in their sound, the band continues the assault with “Raised in Hell and Reload, Aim, Kill”; these should be on a soundtrack for an action movie.
“Hammered” is one of those really killer drinking songs to get your riot on with that I’m sure will amp up the crowd at their shows
“Dead by Dawn” is a personal favorite as this song just drives with a lot of great rhythm and swagger.
“End of the Line” fittingly ends the album and ends it on a great high note that makes you want to start the whole album all over again.
This is a great album. So if you really want a rock album that will kick your ass all over the place and keep you coming back for more, this is it.
