American Crossroads Theatre Celebrates 23 Seasons with Million Dollar Quartet
February 27 – March 1, 2025

SimonFest Theatre Company has changed its name to the American Crossroads Theatre and is celebrating the company’s 23rd season with four musicals, the first of which is an enormously popular crowd-pleaser, Million Dollar Quartet.
On December 4, 1956, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Elvis Presley happened to stop by the Sun Records recording studio all at the same time. They decided to jam together and spent hours together in musical synergy. Million Dollar Quartet recreates and celebrates that historic day in Rock ‘n’ Roll history. It is a rollicking good time for audiences of all ages.
Million Dollar Quartet will play on February 27th, 28th, and March 1st at 7 PM at the Heritage Center Theater in Cedar City.
“This show has taken the world by storm over the past several years,” says director Richard Bugg. “Those of us old enough to remember these great artists will swim in nostalgia and great musical memories. The younger crowd will gain an appreciation for the artistry and fun of this period and these amazing artists that invented a new sound and a new American energy of celebration.”
When asked why the company has changed its name, Bugg (Founder and Artistic Director) said, “For two decades we were committed to honoring and preserving the works of Neil Simon. I had a cordial relationship with Mr. Simon, but following his death, the lawyer for the Simon estate, not knowing who we were or what our mission was, pulled the rights to the Simon shows away from us. For the past few years, we have been working to redefine our brand. We believe in the power of storytelling, and the American experience. We want to be the place where stories meet — a crossroad for sharing our tales. Thus, the choice of American Crossroads Theatre.”
ACT’s Summer season will include the family favorite, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, the nostalgic and heartwarming, Little Women the Musical, and the Rock classic, The Who’s Tommy which will play in repertory, also at the Heritage Center Theater, from July 2nd through August 2nd.
