Southern Utah audiences are in for an unforgettable night of movement, music, and mastery as South Chicago Dance Theatre (SCDT) makes its Red Rock Dance Festival debut on Friday, May 30 at the Eccles Fine Arts Center in St. George.

Hailed by the Chicago Tribune as “the next big thing to hit Chicago’s dance scene,” SCDT brings a bold, contemporary program that blends dynamic physicality with rich storytelling. The company will share signature works by acclaimed choreographers Stephanie Martinez, Terrence Marling, Kate Weare, Tsai Hsi Hung, and Kia S. Smith—each known for their innovative voice and powerful perspective.

After the performance, audiences are invited to stay for a Q&A session with SCDT, offering insight into the work, process, and stories behind the choreography.

A celebration of women choreographers in contemporary dance, the evening promises to be both inspiring and emotionally resonant—perfect for dance enthusiasts and newcomers alike.

Tickets range from $18 to $25, with group discounts available for parties of six or more. Advance purchase is recommended.
