Arts Summit Offers Enrichment and Networking Opportunities

September 8th, 2022 at the Electric Theater

St. GEORGE— The Electric Theater Center will be the site of a creative hotbed on Sept. 8 as the Arts Summit, a one-day conference for arts leaders in St. George, will provide a chance for networking and sharing ideas about the industry.

“The St. George Arts Commission has put together a power-packed agenda for the Summit, which is sure to infuse you with insights and inspiration,” said St. George Mayor Michele Randall. “We are blessed to have so many organizations in St. George that foster an atmosphere where creativity in all art forms can flourish.”

Attendees can hear from industry professionals on different topics pertaining to the administration of arts organizations and the essential nature of the work these art leaders do. It also provides an opportunity to showcase their various non-profit organizations.

“As we gather for Arts Summit 2022, our mission is to recognize the unifying canvas of brotherhood we share,” said Jane K. Anderson Chair-Elect, St. George Arts Commission.

The keynote speaker will be Ernesto Quintero, Creative Director of Higher Ground Entertainment. A filmmaker with a knack for story and heart that allows him to capture emotions, Quintero is directing Mission Possible, a documentary that will bring light to health disparities, medical inequities, and patient-related issues that exist around the medical industry. Quintero’s feature documentary “A Sacred Journey,” a story of his brother’s fight with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, was awarded Best Documentary Film at DOCUTAH International Film Festival in 2019.

The Summit is open to all interested participants. Attendance is required for organizations that have received Recreation, Arts, and Parks (RAP) Tax grants from the St. George Arts Commission. Registration is available online here.

“The St. George Arts Summit is a conference by arts leaders, for arts leaders, featuring the work of arts leaders,” said Emily Reed, Community Arts Manager for the City of St. George. “We hope to see you there as we focus on the role the arts play in building a community.”
