Come have a hoppin’ good time at Best Friends Buntacular Easter Extravaganza
Rabbits and guinea pigs from Best Friends Animal Sanctuary invite families to come play with them Easter Weekend at Best Friends Visitor Center in downtown Kanab

Bunnies and guinea pigs can be delightful pets, but they are not “dogs that hop or squeak.” So Best Friends Animal Sanctuary is offering the Best Friends Buntacular Easter Extravaganza, a fun way Easter weekend for parents and children to learn more about these adorable animals, have fun with them, take one on a sleepover, and maybe even adopt a new family member.
The Best Friends Visitor Center in Kanab will offer different fun events such as taking part in yoga with bunnies or kids crafts March 31 and April 1.
“We want to inspire people to consider fostering or adopting a bunny or a guinea pig,” said Carrie Smith, Best Friends’ manager of community engagement. “Bunnies and guinea pigs do make great indoor pets for prepared, well-informed families. They can be litter-box trained, clicker-trained to do tricks, and may just be the cutest animals to watch play.”
Families can talk to Best Friends caregivers about taking one, or more likely two, bunnies or guinea pigs on an Easter Eve sleepover.
“The kids will still get to enjoy the company of a bunny or guinea pig on Easter morning without the parents having to make a 10- to 12-year commitment to a new pet,” Smith said. “That’s right! Healthy, well taken-care-of bunnies typically live 10–12 years.”
Best Friends Visitor Center is located at 235 S 100 E in Kanab.
