On Dec. 13, Big D Jazz Jam will be held at the DiFiore Center, and organizers will sell Miles Davis tee shirts. The jazz jam starts at 6 p.m. and is scheduled to end at 8 p.m. but may last longer. All proceeds from shirt sales will go to the DiFiore Arts Center.
The Big D Jazz Jam has been a monthly event at the DiFiore Arts Center for a year. This month’s event will feature a tribute to Miles Davis, as will the shirts.
“Miles Davis is one of my favorite musicians, and he happens to be one of the most photographed jazz icons in history,” said Potter. “The album cover for his ‘Jack Johnson Tribute’ is replicated often. My goal was to capture only the highlights, using the black negative space to create lines.”
The shirts are available in male and female styles and will be on sale for $20 or $15 each when two or more are purchased. Orders will be taken the night of the event and will be available in time for Christmas.
The Big D Jazz Jam is open to all musicians. More information is available at the Facebook event page or at difiorecenter.org.
