Based on public input, a public scoping meeting for the Uinkaret Mountains Landscape Restoration Project Environmental Impact Statement has been scheduled to take place on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in Flagstaff, Arizona at the Embassy Suites Conference Room at 706 South Milton Road in downtown Flagstaff, Arizona.
The BLM received public input requesting that a meeting be held in Arizona. The Flagstaff meeting allows the BLM to conduct scoping in a broader geographic area surrounding the proposed project. The Bureau of Land Management Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument and Arizona Strip Field Office are proposing the Uinkaret Mountains Landscape Restoration Project and are studying management methods which may include manual, mechanical and chemical treatments, management of wildfires, use of prescribed fires, and seeding treatments, depending on the specific resource management goals and desired outcomes.
The public scoping comment period for the Uinkaret Mountains Landscape Restoration Project Environmental Impact Statement began on October 21, 2014 and closes December 18, 2014. Comments are welcome from the public at the public open-house meetings, by mail to 345 East Riverside Drive, St. George, UT 84790, or by email to [email protected]
