Professional boxers Pano Tiatia, David Sanchez and Summer DeLeon will be on hand to celebrate the grand opening of a brand new St. George sports bar on Thursday.
‘Bout Time Pub & Grub has eight locations in northern Utah, including Salt Lake City, Ogden and Park City, and on Jan. 16, the franchise debuts its first Southern Utah location.
Featuring food, drinks and lots of sports, ‘Bout Time employs a play on words relating to a boxing match (bout) and time to eat (’bout time). The franchise was founded in 2009 by Joe and Paula Fraser of Salt Lake City, who wanted to create a neighborhood-oriented local sports pub where friends could gather for fun without the big box or “mom and pop” vibe. The first ‘Bout Time opened in September 2009 in West Jordan.
“The pub was an instant success,” says the ‘Bout Time website. “The tiny 1600-square-foot location rocked every night with good times. Within just a few months, a loyal following developed and it soon became clear the groundwork had been laid for a killer sports pub that would be successful in a
multitude of locations.”
As ‘Bout Time sets about to knock out the Southern Utah scene, they’re debuting in style with a grand opening that will include free menu samples, door prizes, Harlem Globetrotter ticket giveaways, appearances by the three pro boxers and even a live ESPN radio broadcast.
‘Bout Time’s menu includes a bevy of appetizers, from Irish nachos, Scotch eggs and calamari to more typical pub fare like wings and onion rings. They sport a hefty burger and sandwich menu, entrees and salads, an all-day breakfast menu and a variety of pizzas.
The facility features TVs on every wall, a full bar, several arcade machines and a pool table.
‘Bout Time is located in the Phoenix Plaza, 929 W. Sunset Blvd. in St. George. Their grand opening event will take place on Thursday, Jan. 16 from 4-9 p.m. Regular business hours will be Monday-Sunday, 10 a.m.-1 a.m. For more information, visit the ‘Bout Time Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/#!/BoutTimeStGeorge.
