Brianhead Opening Weekend 2019/2020 | Southern Utah Ski Resort
Hello snow fam, good to have you back, it’s been a while! If this is your first time reading one of my articles, my name is Josh and I am a snow addict. This is where I like to make my contribution to the website when I’m not doing graphic design and instead playing outdoors and reporting back from weekend openers. 
The time has come to ease into the snow life one turn at a time my friend. While Brianhead wasn’t the first ski resort to open in Utah, we were blessed with a 21” storm in southern Utah which hadn’t seen any significant moisture in 155 plus days, so it was definitely much needed. Upcoming forecast shows more snow is on the way just in time for this Thanksgiving weekend.
I made my way up on Saturday to enjoy a great day back and meet up with friends, and it turned into a hoodie weather day real quick, with a mix of great man made and natural snow, sunshine and laughs. With only a couple of lifts running and early season conditions, the crowds of snow enthusiasts still gathered to get back into the swing of things and bragging rights for the upcoming winter season. 
Some of the biggest news coming from Brianhead this season was the addition of a new hi-speed quad chair on the Navajo side of the mountain, which caters to the more beginner level riders and was not yet open to explore this opening weekend. The other big news is the acquisition of the resort by Mountain Capital Partners which owns and operates seven ski and bike resorts throughout the southwest. “Passing the torch to MCP was the logical decision to ensure the future viability and growth of the resort and town of Brian Head,” said John Grissinger, president of Brian Head Resort.
Looking forward to another fantastic season ahead and to ride along many old and new friends alike, as well as more terrain and fun mountain activities to participate in. After an unreal 2019 winter season and powder filled days that seemed to be refilled every single weekend, let’s not compare too much but rather enjoy every day we get to enjoy a day on the hill with friends and family.
