Bridge Creek Fire Grows to 2,219 Acres Following Saturday Winds
The lightning-caused Bridge Creek Fire near Navajo Mountain has now expanded to 2,219 acres after strong red flag wind conditions on Saturday.
The Northern Arizona Type 3 Incident Management Team has transitioned command of the incident to the Southwest Complex Incident Management Team 2 as of this morning. The incoming Complex team brings additional capacity and resources to help with suppression efforts in the area’s challenging and hazardous terrain.
Current firefighting operations are focused on protecting local infrastructure and cultural resources while ensuring public and firefighter safety. The fire’s location in remote, rugged country continues to limit direct access.

There are now 121 personnel assigned to the incident, including air resources, hand crews, water tenders, and engines. Aircraft continue to source water from Lake Powell in the Rainbow Bridge National Monument area. Recreators are advised to remain aware of ongoing firefighting activity in the region.
A Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) is in place over the fire area. Aircraft operators, including drone users, are urged to respect the restriction. Unauthorized drone activity poses serious risks to public and firefighter safety and can ground aerial suppression operations.
Smoke will remain visible during daylight hours. Boaters on Lake Powell should stay alert to potential changes in visibility.
The Bridge Creek Fire was first reported on June 13 and remains active under close monitoring and coordinated suppression strategies.
