“Bridge to Terabithia” and “Fiddler on the Roof” open at Brigham’s Playhouse
The adored novel by Katherine Paterson, “Bridge to Terabithia,” brought to life in the new musical by Samuel French is opening at Brigham’s Playhouse, southern Utah’s most intimate theater, on Tuesday, Aug. 4 and running through Aug. 29. Also opening is the fan favorite, Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick’s “Fiddler on the Roof,” opening on Wednesday, Aug. 5, which runs through Sept. 12.
In “Bride to Terabithia,” Jesse dreams of becoming someone special. Leslie, the new girl in town, loves to read about fantasy. When the two become friends, they create something magical. “Fiddler on the Roof” is set in a turbulent time in Russia and follows an Orthodox Jewish family as they learn to let go of their conventional traditions in favor of love.
These productions will alternate nights, with “Bridge to Terabithia” running on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday evenings, and “Fiddler on the Roof” running on Wednesday and Friday evenings and Saturday afternoons. During the last two weeks of the run, “Fiddler on the Roof” will run exclusively starting at 7 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays, with additional matinee performances on Saturdays at 2 p.m. Be sure to get your tickets now as seats are sure to sell out quickly.
