The fourth annual Bryce Canyon Fly-in and Car Show will take place Aug. 26 from 8 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. The show will be held at the Bryce Canyon Airport, located at 450 N. Airport Road in Bryce. The Bryce Canyon Fly-in and Car Show is free and open to the public.
Starting at 10 a.m., visitors can attend the airport open house, view the historic airplanes, watch the static plane displays, and observe the car show. Features airplanes include planes from World War II and the Korean War. The pilots will be available to answer questions. At 3 p.m., trophies for the car show winners will be awarded.
The event also includes a raffle giveaway and prizes. Some of the prizes include a helicopter tour over Bryce Canyon National Park, camping chairs, camping backpacks, and more. All the proceeds from the raffle go towards putting on the show.
“So far, the Fly-in and Car show has been successful,” said Greg Pollock, Bryce Canyon airport manager. “It usually takes five to 10 years before large crowds of people start to come, but a lot of people have come the past two years. One year, we ran out of food because we only expected about 150 people to show up. Luckily, Ruby’s Inn is close and helped us out.”
The show will be held on the weekend of the National Parks Service’s anniversary, so those in attendance can receive free admission to Bryce Canyon National Park on Aug. 25 and attend the Fly-in and Car Show afterwards.
