In conjunction with The Las Vegas Family Puppet Theater Company, Bumbleberry Theater announced its newest show, “The Legend of Tumbleweed Gulch.” The show runs Saturdays at 7 p.m. through May 28.
“The Legend of Tumbleweed Gulch” is a comedy that takes place in an old West mining town. The hero of the story is a western mythological jackalope, known to be an unpredictable outlaw who is feared throughout the West. The citizens of the town believe that he is there for the gold. With a Clint Eastwood-like personality, the jackalope arrives just in time to save the town from the greedy railroad company that wants the land and gold rights, and he makes their hired gunslingers look ridiculous. In the end, the real reason the jackalope came to town is revealed.
The show features a set that includes a town boardwalk with a blacksmith barn, a saloon and hotel, a general store, a gold mine, a water tower, and tumbleweeds that roll into the gulch along with other special effects. After the show, guests have the opportunity to meet and greet the puppets and puppeteers.
The Bumbleberry Theater is located at 97 Bumbleberry Lane. Ticket prices are $15 for adults and $10 for children. Utah residents receive a 10 percent discount. Tickets can be purchased by calling (435) 772-3224, online at bumbleberry.com, or at the door.
