Now in its 13th year, the Cedar City Half Marathon is known to be fast, safe, energetic, and scenic beyond words. Whether you’ve called southern Utah home for most of your life or you’re just passing through, this is a great way to experience the beauty of sandstone formations, quaking aspens, and ponderosa pines as you wind your way through spectacular Cedar Canyon. Runners stay motivated with enthusiastic volunteers and on-course music featuring Cedar City’s signature bagpipe players.
Starting at 8,400 feet, the paved route smoothly descends 2,800 feet over 13.1 miles to a triumphant finish. The entire course is closed to traffic, with the final 1.5 miles alongside Coal Creek on the beautiful Cedar City trail system.
Runners experience a first-class race down Cedar Canyon with a finish line in the heart of Cedar City. And don’t let the fun stop there! After running the Canyon, explore southern Utah and Cedar City, also known as Festival City USA! Cedar City is the gateway to Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, and the magnificent Cedar Breaks National Monument. Boasting these and many more national treasures within a two-hour drive, you couldn’t ask for a better end-of-summer adventure.
