City of St. George & Firefighter’s Association Invites The Community To Cool Off At The Lagoon With The Moonlight 5K

As the summer heat bears down on St. George, the City of St. George and the St. George Firefighter’s Association have come up with an exciting way for the community to cool off and have fun. On June 9 at 9 PM, they will be hosting the Moonlight 5K at The Shores of Desert Color.
“This is an amazing way to kick off the summer,” said Kirstin Williams, Recreation Coordinator for the City of St. George. “You can show support to our amazing firefighters — who will be spraying runners with water as they pass by — and get to enjoy a pool party at Desert Color right after the race.”
The Moonlight 5K promises to be one of the most enjoyable family activities of the summer. Runners of all ages are welcome to participate in this unique event. Not only will they have the opportunity to cool off as the firefighters spray them with refreshing water along the route, but they will also be supporting a good cause. A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Utah Burn Center and the St. George Fire Fighters Association.

St. George Races, a division within the Leisure Services Department of the City of St. George, is the driving force behind this event. Known for hosting a variety of races and special events throughout the city and Washington County, St. George Races offers a range of options for runners, including half marathons, 10Ks, 5Ks, kids runs, triathlons, and bike events. They also provide sponsorship opportunities for local businesses and rely on the support of volunteers.
