Local residents are invited to get their hands in the clay during a Community Pot Throw on Friday, January 2, from 3–6 PM at the St. George Recreation Center.

This free, all-ages event welcomes participants of any experience level to create ceramic bowls that will later be donated to the annual Soup N’ Bowl Fundraiser benefiting the St. George Museum of Art. No prior pottery experience is required, making the event accessible to first-time makers as well as seasoned creatives.

Community pot throws have become a meaningful way to connect artmaking with civic support. Each bowl created contributes directly to a fundraiser that supports museum exhibitions, educational programming, and outreach initiatives throughout the year.

Guided by local artists and volunteers, participants will shape bowls that become both functional objects and symbols of shared creativity. The relaxed, drop-in format encourages conversation, experimentation, and community connection.
