Corner Clinic, St. George’s first cash-based urgent care, opens its doors
By Aly Heywood
For St. George residents, a new cash-based, fixed-price urgent care clinic will fill the gap between their primary doctors’ offices and the ER by providing walk-in care for non-life-threatening injury or illness. Corner Clinic Urgent Care opens its first neighborhood urgent care clinic in St. George April 13. The clinic provides residents of St. George and the surrounding areas with fast, convenient, and affordable health care.
With the recent growth of high-deductible plans and vague patient billing, Corner Clinic offers a new model, providing high-deductible patients with up-front, affordable care. There are no negotiated rates, no third-party reimbursements, and almost no paperwork.
“Medical care is becoming so expensive and difficult, especially for those of us with high deductible plans,” said Shane Whittier, Corner Clinic administrator. “We are happy to offer a different option — it’s simple, up-front, quick, and transparent.”
Patients will receive insurance forms to have payments applied to their insurance if needed. All prices are fixed and posted in the office and online at cornerclinic.com. Corner Clinic will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays.
When Corner Clinic opens its doors April 13, it will welcome the public to a tour of the facility and to meet the providers. Free churros will be offered. The first 10 patients will receive a free office visit. Corner Clinic is located at 2351 S. River Rd Suite 5 in St. George.
