Think scorpions are scary? Think again. The popular Scorpion Safari is back at Snow Canyon State Park on Sunday, June 1, offering curious explorers a chance to discover the truth about these often-misunderstood desert dwellers.

Running from 8:30 PM to 10:00 PM, this guided night program combines science, storytelling, and blacklight tracking to bust common scorpion myths—and replace fear with fascination. Led by knowledgeable park staff, the safari invites guests to explore the canyon after dark and learn about the ecological role these glowing arachnids play in Utah’s desert landscapes.

Participants will use handheld UV flashlights to spot scorpions in their natural habitat, where they fluoresce under blacklight. It’s part science lesson, part treasure hunt—and fully unforgettable.

Advance registration is required, and sign-up opens two days before the event. To register, contact the Snow Canyon Visitor Center by phone or in person.

This is one of Snow Canyon’s most popular evening programs, so early registration is encouraged. It’s ideal for families, visitors, and anyone looking to see the desert come alive after dark.
