The Washington County Barrel Racing Association invites riders and horse enthusiasts to kick off the new year with a series of jackpot barrel racing events in Hurricane this January. These competitions are part of the association’s ongoing 2026 schedule, offering riders of all levels a chance to compete and earn points early in the season.
Jackpot barrel races are held at Washington County Legacy Park, located at 5500 West 700 South. In these events, riders race their horses through a cloverleaf pattern around barrels in a timed competition, combining speed, precision, and horsemanship.
The first two jackpot dates of the year are scheduled for:
- Saturday, Jan. 10 — Noon (Indoor)
- Saturday, Jan. 24 — Noon (Indoor) dixieclassic

These events offer a fun and competitive opportunity for barrel racers and spectators alike. Entries are typically drawn the night before each jackpot, with pre-entered riders eligible for the early draw. The cut-off time for pre-entries is 6 PM the evening prior to each race. dixieclassic
