The City of St. George is preparing for one of its biggest annual celebrations as Dixie Days returns September 15–21. The second year of the weeklong festival blends beloved traditions with new experiences, offering residents and visitors a chance to gather and celebrate heritage, creativity, and community spirit.
Kickoff Events
On Monday, September 15, Dixie Days begins with a drone show above Red Hills Desert Garden at 9 PM. The display will be visible from much of downtown, with the Dixie Sunbowl offering some of the best views.
The following day features a free film screening of My Father’s Highway at 5 PM at the Electric Theater. September 16–17 also bring Dixie Treks, guided tours of historic landmarks including the Tabernacle attic, Pioneer Park Interpretive Trail, and Heritage Cove.
Campus Celebration
On September 17, Utah Tech University unveils a new Statue Garden at 9 AM, honoring five influential American thinkers. That evening, the public can explore the university’s Human Performance Center during free open hours from 6 to 9 PM.
Rodeo and Carnival
The 91st Annual Dixie Roundup Rodeo runs September 18–20 at 7:30 PM each night at the Dixie Sunbowl, continuing a tradition that draws crowds from across the region. September 18–21, Town Square hosts the Dixie Days Carnival, complete with rides, games, and food for the whole family.

Dinner and Dash
Thursday, September 18, also features Dinner on Main, where guests dine together outdoors from 5 to 9 PM on Main Street, just south of St. George Boulevard.
On Saturday, September 20, the day begins with the Dixie Days Dash at 8 AM on 100 South at 400 East, with 4K and 2K race options. At 9 AM, the Dixie Roundup Rodeo Parade marches along 100 South, finishing at the Sunbowl.
Dixie Days Festival
That same day, Vernon Worthen Park hosts the Dixie Days Festival from 9 AM to 2 PM. Visitors can browse artisan booths, enjoy food trucks and live music, and take part in activities like tractor rides, a petting zoo, and bounce houses.
Closing Out
The final day, Sunday, September 21, wraps up carnival festivities at Town Square.
“Dixie Days is more than an event. It’s a celebration of who we are,” said Mayor Michele Randall. “We invite the entire community to come out, make memories, and show what the Dixie Spirit truly means.”
