Intermountain Healthcare will hold its annual Diabetes Fair on Saturday, Nov. 14, at the Taylor Health and Science Building. The theme for this year’s fair is “Be Diabetes Wise.” The information presented is designed to help those who may not know much about diabetes or how to treat it. There is no charge to attend the Dixie Regional Diabetes Fair.
“The fair is a great way to provide accurate information about what diabetes is and gives those who want to find out more access to information straight from the experts,” explained Blaire Snell, a dietitian at the Dixie Endocrine and Diabetes Clinic. “We believe it is important for people to be well educated on diabetes and the best ways to treat it.”
Many agencies will be at the Dixie Regional Diabetes Fair with helpful information on how to prevent or treat diabetes. There will be prizes and free glucose screenings. Multiple presentations are scheduled throughout the day, including a demonstration showing how to cook healthy food. Registered doctors and nurse practitioners will be speaking on a variety of subjects, including diabetes and depression.
The Dixie Regional Diabetes Fair will run from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Taylor Health and Science Building is located at 1526 S. Medical Center Dr. in St. George. For more information about the fair, please call (435) 251-2888.
