DOVE Center recently welcomed five new members to its Board of Trustees. Mary Barth, Shonie Christensen, and Debra Townsend of St. George have joined the board, as have Leslie Bowler of Veyo and Ruth Weniger of Ivins. Board members meet monthly and may serve up to two three-year terms. As new members arrive, others bid adieu. Departing the DOVE Board this year are Paula Claymore and Rachel Naegeli.

“Sadly, with each year we must say goodbye to others who have been the foundation for our growth and progress,” said board president Cindy Richardson. “We will miss them but are forever grateful for their contributions.”

The new trustees join Joanie Ayers, Lori Burgess, Calob Johnston, Andrea Roberts, Pat Shoemaker-Glessner board president Cindy Richardson, vice-president Teri Koenig, and secretary Sharon Hoiekvam. Barth will serve on the executive committee as treasurer.

“It is with great excitement that I welcome these new members to the DOVE Board,” said Richardson. “They represent the best in our community. They are engaged, professional, and very talented, each with a unique skill set that will help take our cause to new heights.”

Trustees work closely with DOVE Center staff, overseeing committees on community partnerships, prevention education, marketing and development, and fundraising.

“I express my heartfelt gratitude for the talent, experience, wisdom, and dedication of our trustees,” said Lindsey Boyer, DOVE Center’s executive director. “The work we do with survivors of domestic and sexual violence is so vital to the community and I have come to rely upon our board’s input.”
