Join the Tuacahn High School for the Performing Arts Titan Chamber Orchestra on Wednesday, May 13, as it accompanies electronica trio Vertex3, led by composer and drummer Aaron Ramsey. The concert will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hafen Theatre at Tuacahn High School in the beautiful Padre Canyon and is free and open to the public.
Vertex³ combines neo-classical minimalism with an ethereal, cinematic vibe. Electronic tracks, with undulating moods and grooves, provide a seamless backdrop to two amplified violins, their tones artfully processed in real time. Vertex3 includes violinists Rebecca Sabine and De Ann Letourneau. The trio will perform his compositions along with Tuacahn High School for the Performing Arts’ top chamber orchestra, the Titan Chamber Orchestra.
Aaron Ramsey has a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in scoring for film, television and video games from Berklee College of Music in Boston and Valencia, Spain. Some of his highlights at Berklee were collaborating with video game design students from USC and playing piano at the Berklee Performance Center with his group, the Aaron Ramsey Collective. He has also played drums with the Aaron Ramsey Collective at The House of Blues and other venues throughout Las Vegas.
Sabine is currently performing in Steve Wynn’s “ShowStoppers” and the Las Vegas Philharmonic. She was the concertmaster for “The Lion King” at Mandalay Bay, has toured with Van Morrison. She has played on many television shows, including “American Idol,” and various awards shows including the Emmy Awards, Latin Grammy, the Country Music Awards and the Billboard Awards. Ramsey also served as concertmaster for the PBS special and DVD for Andrea Bocelli.
Letourneau, concertmaster of the Las Vegas Philharmonic, played with Celine Dion and currently plays in ShowStoppers. She is founding member of Virtuosi West, a chamber group which has in the past been featured with the Titan Chamber Orchestra.
