Here at Zion Vineyards, we have been making wines for more than 10 years, and the Tasting Room has been Open for Business for just over a year now. Come and visit us at 5 Hidden Valley Rd in Leeds, Utah, just off the I-15, 12 miles North of St George. Input Zion Vineyards in Google Maps and it will bring you right to us. We are a small Boutique Winery in the Washington County AVA.
We have had guests from across the United States, Canada, France, Great Britain, Germany, Italy and Australia. Guests from around the World come to our Tasting Room and try our Wines, and the response has been fantastic. Most of our guests have purchased our wines as well to take home and share the experience and flavors with their friends and family. This demonstrates that Utah can produce some fantastic wines. Our vines may struggle here in Southern Utah due to the heat, but wines are like people, and struggle yields strong character.
This Summer was a rough one. With temperatures over 100 plus degrees for more than 70 days in a row, with no break, even in the wee hours of the morning. We want the grapes to struggle, but this summer was a bit much. The grapes ripened early; our picking was done in mid-September, which has never happened in the last 10 years of growing. The grapes developed a beautiful structure, complex sugars, and strong character, though a low yield. So, our 2024 Vintages may not have a lot of products, but the flavors, character, and structure will be nothing short of amazing. Robert Cec, our winemaker, processes our wine with a keen eye for detail. We would like to say winemaking is 60% science and 40% art.
Try our Petit Sirah; it is back on the Tasting Menu. This wine is exploding with flavors of dark fruit, blackberry, cassis, and plums with firm tannins and a lingering mouthfeel that develops into a velvety finish with a hint of chocolate.
The Owner and Vintner, Michael Jackson, considers this his Legacy. He has had a Love of Wine most of his life, and Zion Vineyards is a dream fulfilled.
