Farm Fresh Finds and Local Vibes at the Downtown Farmers Market
By Elizabeth Gunter
There’s no better way to kick off your Saturday than a stroll through the Downtown Farmers Market at Vernon Worthen Park in St. George. Held every Saturday year-round, this vibrant community gathering features over 60 vendors from Washington and Iron Counties and is quickly becoming a beloved local tradition.

On Saturday, May 17 from 8 AM to 2 PM, shoppers can browse an ever-rotating mix of locally grown produce, pasture-raised meats, raw cheeses, fresh breads, and handmade artisan goods—all in the green heart of downtown. From seasonal fruits and veggies to bath products, woodworking, and more, there’s something for everyone under the Southern Utah sun.

Live music starts about half an hour after the market opens, adding a laid-back soundtrack to your morning. Bring a blanket, grab a bite, and hang out on the shaded lawn while local musicians set the tone. The market is dog-friendly, stroller-ready, and perfect for families, foodies, and curious visitors alike.

Founded in 2007 by Nicki Pace to celebrate downtown and support small makers, the Downtown Farmers Market has grown into a year-round fixture thanks to the leadership of current owners Kat Puzey and Ashley Tiller. Their mission? To build an inclusive, welcoming community hub where everyone—from farmers to food trucks to fur babies—feels at home.
The market runs May through October from 8 AM to noon, and November through April from 10 AM to 2 PM. It takes a short winter break in late December and January, and observes closures for major city events like the St. George Marathon and Ironman.
So mark your calendar, grab your market bag, and come be a part of what makes downtown St. George so special.
