First-Ever Zion Reggae Festival Brings Soulful Vibes to Southern Utah
September 20-21, 2024.
Zion Ponderosa Ranch & Resort in Orderville, Utah, will host its inaugural large-scale music festival. The Zion Reggae Festival, produced by East Zion Pirate Entertainment, promises a weekend of soulful music and community connection. Sherri and Mark Folkersen, partners in East Zion Pirate Entertainment, shared, “At this stage in life, our passion is to share our home with people looking to connect on a deeper level away from the chaos of daily life and create a greater connection among us. We believe it’s time to set aside our differences and come together on our commonalities. Unity, love, respect, and oneness is the message we want to share and spread in these times.” They added, “We feel passionate about bringing artists to ‘our’ Zion to sing their songs about Zion here. Whether you seek high adventure or peace and solitude, we have it all!”
Headliners for the two-day event include Mike Love & The Full Circle, The Hip Abduction, Satsang, Nick Sefakis, Eureka Sound, and Nattali Rize, alongside 16 other bands. The festival will feature three stages, offering music until midnight on both nights. Visitors can enjoy a variety of food and drink options from 10 different vendors, shop at the artisan vendor village, and make new friends in the campground.
Beyond the music, the Zion Reggae Festival encourages attendees to explore the Ponderosa’s natural beauty, including its shared boundary with Zion National Park and access to the last direct trail to the summit of Observation Point. Additionally, the nearby Applecross Trail system offers over 15 miles of brand-new mountain biking trails.
Festivalgoers can stay in various lodging options at the Ponderosa Ranch, bring their RVs, or opt for free tent and car camping. For more details, visit zionreggaefest.com or find @zionreggaefest on Instagram and Facebook.
