Creativity and community come together at Southern Utah Museum of Art (SUMA) during First Friday, a free after-hours event inviting visitors of all ages to explore art in a relaxed, welcoming setting. The next event takes place Friday, November 7, from 6 to 8 p.m., at SUMA, located at 13 S. 300 W. in Cedar City.

Each month, SUMA opens its doors for an evening of discovery, offering guests the chance to experience world-class exhibitions, hands-on artmaking, and meaningful conversation in the museum’s airy galleries. November’s featured activity invites participants to create artist trading cards—miniature works of art that can be shared and exchanged, adding a fun, personal touch to the evening.

“First Friday is all about accessibility,” says the museum’s programming team. “It’s a chance for the community to slow down, make something, and enjoy art together—whether you’re a regular or a first-time visitor.”

The event is free and open to everyone. Families, students, and art lovers alike are encouraged to attend, engage with the exhibitions, and experience the museum’s creative atmosphere after hours.
