The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued a
* Flood Warning for…
Southeastern Washington County in southwestern Utah…
* Until 415 PM MDT
* At 1018 AM MDT, widespread heavy rainfall has caused all area
streams, dry washes and rivers to run high. Roadway flooding is
possible. Local law enforcement has reported roadway flood in St.
George.
* Rivers and streams will run high through the day including the
Fort Pearce Wash, the Santa Clara River and the Virgin River. At
this time, mainstem rivers including the Virgin River are not
expected to exceed flood stage.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
St George, Washington, Hurricane, Santa Clara, La Verkin, Hildale,
Toquerville, Virgin, Rockville and Bloomington.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
