FMASU’S HALLOWEEN EDITION OF THE
GUERILLA FILMMAKING CHALLENGE RETURNS
FOR THE 17TH CONSECUTIVE OUTING!
Attention filmmakers of all ages and all skill sets in the Southern Utah area! FMASU’s Halloween Edition of the Guerilla Filmmaking Challenge returns just in time for the witching season. The Challenge is designed to give filmmakers an opportunity to make a short film in a limited amount of time using any resources available to them. On Friday, September 2nd, the registration portal will open here.
Those who register within the first 48 hours of the portal going live will receive $10 off the $50 submission price as well as an additional 60 seconds towards their 5-minute short film running time. Additionally, during registration, a topic will be given. Filmmakers must build their short film around the given topic. What might that topic be? Challenge organizers aren’t saying until September 2nd but you can bet it’ll have something to do with Halloween.
All completed short films will play on the big screen in mid-October with the winning film going on to have a festival premiere screening at HorrorFest International later on in the month.
The Guerilla Filmmaking Challenge has been going strong since 2005 and has seen 100s of completed films through the years. Some have even gone on to have successful film festival runs.
Again, the registration portal will open on Friday, September 2nd. It’ll close on September 16th. It should also be noted that there will only be 20 sign-up slots available so don’t hesitate to register!
