Operations Fire activity increased around 2 PM Sunday, pushing eastward into the Kings Creek Campground area, where firefighters conducted a tactical firing operation to protect the campground. Additional firing operations took place on the southwest side off Big Hollow Road to connect and reinforce the fire’s edge. Night shift resources monitored and secured those areas overnight.

Today, dozer work continues on the northern flank near Wilson Peak and the Hillsdale and Johnson Canyons as crews work to secure structures. On the northeast flank, firefighters are focused on tying in fire line along Forest Service Road 100. On the east side, a firing operation is planned to prevent the fire from moving beyond East Fork Road, pending favorable weather. Along the southern edge, crews are mopping up to ensure fire lines are completely extinguished. On the southwest, the Big Hollow firing operation is ongoing to help protect the Bryce Woodland community.

Fire Restrictions Stage 1 Fire Restrictions are in effect for all unincorporated private and state lands within Washington, Kane, and Garfield Counties. This includes all lands within Bryce Canyon National Park boundaries. These restrictions are aimed at minimizing common wildfire causes.
