Free screening of ‘Switch,’ discussion on future of energy to take place at Kanab High School
On Thursday night, April 24, at 7 p.m. in the Kanab High School auditorium, community members are invited to attend a free viewing of the documentary film “Switch” and hear local students’ outlooks on energies of the future.
Presented by Amazing Earthfest, this event is co-sponsored by Garkane Energy, Kane County School District and the Kane Schools Foundation.
The field of energy generation is undergoing major transition at the utility scale as well as for individuals. The cost of energy for homes and transportation continues to climb – from wood and coal to gasoline, diesel and propane. Where are we headed, and what does the future hold for the energy that powers our lives?
“Switch” presents a fascinating journey inside the world’s most productive and most promising sources of electricity and motive power that enable the world’s economy and individual lifestyle choices.
Immediately after the film, Kanab City Councilman Brent Chamberlain will moderate a panel discussion with student essay winners to engage community residents and parents in hearing student views on the future of energy in their lives.
Kanab High School is located at 59 E. Cowboy Way in Kanab. The documentary will be shown at 7 p.m. Utah time.
