Veterans offered free admission to Frontier Homestead State Park for Military Appreciation Day
On Military Appreciation Day Aug. 11, Frontier Homestead State Park will waive day-use entrance fees for active service members, veterans, and their families. All 43 state parks will offer special activities or displays.
A military-themed scavenger hunt will take you through the park. Living history presenters will have a variety of uniforms and weapons detailing the sacrifices of American soldiers from the Mexican American War through the Gulf Wars. Visitors will also have access to hands-on historical activity stations. The activities will run from 10 am to 2 p.m.
