George Streetfest on Main returns to southern Utah Oct. 2, Marathon Weekend, with a necessary change to the Zion Brewing Company Jazz Garden.
Event organizers have been informed that though the September remodel of the Ancestor Square Courtyard is now complete, the newly laid grass is not yet able to support the crowds of the Jazz Garden. DiFiore Center for the Arts at 307 North Main Street has agreed to host an Art and Jazz Garden Party sponsored by Zion Brewing Company and Etched Magazine.
The Art and Jazz Garden Party at the DiFiore will feature a live jazz and blues concert, catering by Twisted Noodle Cafe, and a wine tasting event featuring IG Winery and the newly appointed sommelier of the Zion Brewing Company Jazz Garden, Scott Williamson. The DiFiore will also be celebrating the gallery opening of a show by local artist Jennifer Gubler, titled “Etched.”
Entertainment for the evening will include one-man blues guitarist, singer, and harmonica player Nic Chamberlain of southern Utah. At 7 p.m., musical duet Russ and Rebecca Burt of Las Vegas will perform European Jazz including yodeling, clarinet, accordion, banjo, and bass. West Coast Jazz will follow at 8 p.m. with jazz sax virtuoso Russ Burt on tenor sax and Nic Chamberlain on electric guitar. This final two-hour set will include cool jazz, Chicago-style blues, and Rebecca Burt’s sultry vocal jazz ballads.
