The OASIS Women’s Golf Association, led by Allison Webb and Karen Parkinson, continues the tradition established four years ago of sponsoring the Valley Rally, a two-person scramble tournament on the Palmer course to benefit the Mesquite Cancer HELP Society. The Mesquite Cancer HELP Society, a 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit, offers assistance to Moapa and Virgin Valley area cancer patients and their families, and is funded strictly through local fundraising events and personal donations. The association has set $10,000 as their lofty goal for this year’s fundraiser.
This year’s event will be held Sunday, Oct. 26 and is open to members of the Oasis Golf Club, as well as guests. The entry fee for members is $40 per person and $65 per person for guests. The tournament fee includes tee prizes, pin events on every hole for men and women, drink specials, and a BBQ following play. During the BBQ, there will be lots of raffle items to vie for.
Golfers and non-golfers alike are encouraged to sponsor a hole for $100, which is a tax-deductible donation. This is an ideal way of remembering someone who has faced their own battle with cancer and help current victims of this indiscriminate disease at the same time.
Entry forms and sponsorship forms for this year’s Valley Rally are available at the Oasis Pro Shop. For further information or questions regarding this year’s event, contact Adam Schwartz at (702) 346-7820. Come join the fun and help support your neighbors’ fight against cancer!
