The DOVE Center, a nonprofit agency serving St. George area families whose lives have been touched by the national epidemic of domestic violence, recently received a grant from the eBay Foundation’s Opportunity Project for $2,500 to expand its work. DOVE Center services are instrumental in helping successfully transition individuals from trauma victims into self-sufficient survivors, who contribute to the economy and help build a strong and safe community.
“This generous donation from eBay of $2,500 has helped us provide trauma-healing therapeutic services for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in the community and surrounding area,” said Lindsey Boyer, executive director of the DOVE Center. “It has also been used to provide vital services, including trauma-informed support groups, Beyond Trauma curriculum, trauma-focused manuals and play therapy supplies, and also supported individual counseling services, all free to members of our community.”
“This generous donation from Verizon Wireless has helped us reach out to those who need our services in the community,” Boyer said. “It has also been used to provide vital services, including emergency shelter, advocacy and counseling, and a free 24-hour helpline, as well as to continue our prevention and education efforts throughout the community.”
