Habitat for Humanity of Southwest Utah dedicates 22nd home
By Lil Barron
Habitat for Humanity of Southwest Utah welcomed home Brandi, Tony, and their family March 29. This home is the 22nd that Habitat for Humanity has built in its 20-year history in Washington County. Habitat for Humanity staff, volunteers, donors, and sponsors took part in a ceremony and ribbon cutting welcoming the newest Habitat for Humanity partner family to their beautiful new home.
“This is a gift,” said Brandi. “We now have a place to bloom where we are planted. And we could not be more grateful for this opportunity. We look forward to growing our roots strong in this community and paying it forward.”
Habitat for Humanity board president Heather Hart, along with past board presidents, handed over the keys to the family following the ribbon cutting by the Dixie Sunshiners. Hart expressed appreciation to all who have supported this build, including the volunteers and sponsors who made it possible to accomplish the organization’s mission of providing safe, affordable housing in Washington County.
Habitat for Humanity of Southwest Utah was established in May 1998 for the purpose of building safe, decent, affordable housing in partnership with families in Washington County who fall between 60 and 80 percent of the area median income. At Habitat for Humanity, our shared vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live; through shelter we change lives.
